Today was the day I delivered my pitch to my classmates and teachers. Overall I think was decent pitch however, when I was finished I think that I could had made it go more smoothly. I skipped some points in my powerpoint because, I was running out of time and I had to say the more important things which was towards the end. Overall my teacher said my ethical clothing idea could work however, there is a lot of work done to bring this idea to fruition. Moving on to the feedback I received from people in my class, I think they were confused whether I was actually making clothes. I then made it clear to everyone that I will not be creating clothes in any way and that this side is fictional. Also, there was a question from a member of the audience which I did not have a concrete answer to which was how this all relates to London. He stated that London is a powerhouse for cities with fashion and I should utilise this towards my advantage. My teacher then told me things that I should start such as: reading a book called Cradle to cradle, researching more into the London College Of Fashion, examining magazines and reading fashion blogs like Vivienne Westwood. I do feel like the feedback responses I did get steered me away from what I initially set out to do but however, if doing the things that my teacher says to do which will get me a good grade it’ll be foolish to completely ignore her.

What will I change?

Right now I am thinking of abandoning the idea of interviewing models. My reasons for this are that I think it could be unnecessary, and be the furthest away from my idea of ethical fashion. This is the only aspect of my fmp that I am thinking to change.

What obstacles do you envision?

I think that attracting female models for my project will be a big challenge. Many of them might be sceptical of the idea and may perhaps be too shy to say yes. The other obstacle I think I will have trouble with is creating the two-page magazine spread. My skills on Photoshop and illustrator are not the best and it could most likely take a long time before I start producing attractive work in this area.

Peace
