It is the half term but that doesn’t mean I have to slow down the pace regrading research. First of all I decided to look at the origin of market forces and they have transformed into today’s market. I learnt that Paris is the birthplace of fashion and couture fashion is very important originating from Paris as well. During that specific research I gathered that Milan has a great influence regarding the world of fashion. A few notable names I picked up were Giorgio Armani and Krizia. After looking at major cities with fantastic rich history of fashion to its name, I examined mass production. I learnt that salesmanship and advertising played an integral role during its development and department stores and mail order stores were in high demand by citizens. Furthermore, an aspect that took me by surprise is that America was very dependent on England’s textile industry. It fascinates me how much these cities fashion stretches back. From on I will be paying very close attention to ethical brands that hopefully come out of Milan, Paris and London. This information is relevant to me because I was born in London and I do need to appreciate and honour the fine quality textures we have in our disposal. I will use this information to create my final piece by visiting stores all across London and examine the texture and the names associated with them. I would like to find out where they are from and especially creating my typography I would now desire a sense of patriotism within it.

Giorgio Armani
Born on July 11, 1934, in Italy, Giorgio Armani is an iconic clothing designer who has expanded his empire to include restaurants and hotels. His popularity skyrocketed in America in the 1980s when his men's 'power suits' appeared frequently on the television series Miami Vice and in the 1980 film American Gigolo, which starred Richard Gere in Armani's signature garb.

Krizia
Krizia is the name Mariuccia Mandelli chose to make her dream come true. She borrowed it from the title of Plato's unfinished dialogue on women's vanity, spelling it with a K to make it sound more exotic. Plato's Crizia is Mariuccia's ideal man, who squanders all his riches on jewelry and clothing for beautiful and compliant women.
