ETHICAL FASHION (FMP)

DIER.

This is my new blog page so I’d advise you to definitely watch this space. It is 100% going to explode. First of all today our teachers notify us that we should start thinking about our FMP ideas. I was really enthusiastic when I first heard the news because I have been anticipating this for weeks now. I’ve always looked forward to this because I know I would enjoy the task because it allows me to choose a topic I really want to do. At first I had to write a report about 3 practitioners relating to my chosen field. Initially I choose to research and discuss drug abuse. I did that magnificently well but I never really got into it because it didn’t relate to me at all or made me feel passionate about it.

As a result I had a discussion with three of my teachers and decided ethical fashion was the best route for me. Clearing that up I am going to make my own ethical brand called DIER. and advertise it. Fashion is important to me and I am passionate about the topic – so that conversation was a great outcome for me. I am very grateful for the first teacher I went to because she steered me in the right direction for sure. After that I had to make a decision whether I am team digital media or team moving image. I opted for team digital media because I feel that for the course I am doing at university (advertising and marketing) this is a great way to enhance my skills.

The next thing I did that is subtly introduced on my website what is ethical fashion mainly stating what the philosophies are. I haven’t decided what exactly and precisely I am going to do yet so below I have listed everything that I can hopefully do.

1. Two page Magazine spread – Create the pages on Photoshop and illustrator about my ethical brand and why everyone should start wearing it

2. Organise Photo-shoot – Gather boys and girls and dress them up in our team’s clothes (Definitely do)

3. Create an online campaign with typography – Use After Effects and win over the audience using flashy text and advertising slogans

4. Interview models and get responses on why they wear their clothes and what identity the clothes portray them.
